About Your Coach

I’m Lisa Lamirand, BA, and a Personal Empowerment Coach. I had the privilege to be trained by author and Performance Coach, Will Matthews, Laurie Hubbs, LPC, NCC, ACS, BCC, and Transformational Coach Mandy Keene. I am a Certified Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), TimeLine Therapy, and hypnotherapy. I am accredited by The American Board of Neurolinguistic Programming, the Time Line Therapy Associate, the UK Guild of Hypnotist Examiners, and the NLPU Global Training and Consulting Community. My background in education extends over 25 years.

At the age of 20, I became a single parent, who had no idea how challenging parenting my son alone would be. I worked full time, created a loving home, and I did the best I knew how. What I did not understand was how crucial attachment was with my child.


With so many parents, myself included, I see us come to the end of our skill-set. The punishments get more severe, or we medicate when we can no longer control, or we simply give up.


I completely understand. I was one of those parents.
I read every self-help book I could get ahold of.
I prayed. Sought counseling for both my son and I.


I simply ran out of tools.

 

But, I refused to give up. I refused to settle. I knew there had to be more. I believe that we need to create invictus families. Invictus is Latin for unconquerable, invincible.

 

I was inspired by the movie, "Invictus", about Nelson Mandela, who spent 27 years in a prison for anti-apartheid activity, but who became South Africa’s first President. Mandela’s goal was to unite a country rife with racism and hatred, not repaying evil for evil. History speaks to the generosity, compassion and love he governed from.

 

Throughout my life, I also wish to inspire, to teach, and to lead with compassion. To create invictus, unconquerable, hearts.
 
These are some of the things I’ve learned, and I can’t wait to share more with you!

  • I learned that the food we give our children matters - never were we intended to eat food that was un-natural.

  • I learned, and continue to learn how many ways we can connect with our children, and keep them from becoming peer-oriented.

  • I learned that EFT Tapping, meditation, prayer, journaling -all matter. How we incorporate these modalities will be based on the client’s preferences. If you’ve never tried one, I ask you to be open to seeing how one works over the other.

  • I learned that each child has a true, innate nature. Our children are who they are and we need to embrace and empower them as their true, authentic selves.

  • I learned that as we respond with compassion, curiosity and heartfelt understanding, our children and others within our families will feel listened to, and best of all, LOVED.

My Methods

As well as compassionate coaching, I include EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), hypnosis, TimeLine Therapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) therapy.

 

EFT involves tapping specific points on the body, primarily on the head and the face, in a particular sequence along the meridian lines of Chinese medicine. While doing this, the person focuses on the issue that they wish to treat. EFT tapping has been used to successfully reduce symptoms of those suffering with PTSD, anxiety, depression, weight loss issues, pain, stress, and other issues.

Hypnotherapy is NOT the same as hypnosis used as entertainment. With therapeutic hypnosis, you are fully in control, and my methods are based on the work by the famous psychiatrist, Dr. Milton Erickson.

 

The Ericksonian method is indirect hypnosis, where therapeutic behavior change is achieved by conversing through metaphors, reframing, and stories, rather than direct orders.

 

This form of hypnotherapy, combined with mental exercises of Neurolinguistic Programming provides wonderful healing at both the conscious and unconscious levels.

 

Rather than being “asleep” as so often is thought with hypnosis, you are simply in a relaxed state, where your brain waves are in the alpha and theta states. It’s similar to being in a nice daydream, a great massage or in meditation. You are still awake, and still in control.

 

In a relaxed state, inner-change happens, as it allows us to “turn off” our mental chatter and be in a more resourceful, imaginative, learning state.


All sessions are remote, so you can relax in the comfort of your own home.

THE UNCONSCIOUS MIND

 

Have you ever driven somewhere familiar, and realize that once you arrived, you didn’t even have to think about how to get there? It all happened unconsciously. We do this every day. We even use the term “zoning out.”

 

The subconscious/unconscious mind’s main purpose is for survival and to help you. It pumps blood, brings oxygen into your lungs and heals your body without telling it to. Even if we’re not in a deep trance, our unconscious mind is still listening; the way it listens for danger while you sleep.

 

It represses memories to keep you safe, stores your learnings, helps you remember things you need to remember, and runs your automatic internal programming and behaviors. In fact, our unconscious mind runs 88% of our behavior, which is why it’s so important to access that part of our mind for change.

 

Have you ever wanted to change your behavior, but every time you tried to make the effort to change, you did the complete opposite of what you wanted? For example, I wanted to lose weight, or exercise more, I might have started off strong, but then, in a matter of a few days, I “fell off the wagon”, and ultimately, gave up.

One2One Coaching

Session 1: Identifies your core limiting beliefs, and discovers what is holding you back from being your best self (and parent, if requested) both from an unconscious and conscious standpoint. We will build a framework so you can experience a deep level change, and weekly exercises to complete prior to the next session. 90 minutes.

 

Session 2: Measuring your progress from the previous session. Now comes the time to build unconscious strategies, so your successes occur automatically. 60-75 minutes each session after the first.

 

Session 3: Again, measuring your progress from the previous session, we continue to build unconscious strategies, getting your mind to discover HOW to create significant change at a deep level. Coaching may be included to shift negative mindsets for a holistic approach to change for both the conscious and unconscious parts of the mind.

 

Session 4: Tying all of the work together from the beginning, and deepening the reprogramming of your mind.

6-Week Coaching Program

 

Session 1: Foundation Building. By simplifying the routines throughout our day, we encourage more self-directed involvement within the family and create routines that involve them (age specific). Without this, the child’s life feels out of control. Making sure both parents are on the same page where goal-setting and guidelines are involved is paramount. I show parents how to support one another as well as their children with systems that encourage individuality, build rapport and develop strength within the family unit. (60-75 minutes)

 

Session 2: Mindset. By shifting our mindsets from negative beliefs, patterns of thinking and overwhelm to solution-based, positive patterns of thinking. We absolutely need to parent with standards and boundaries, AND, our children need to know they’re being parented from a place of safety and protection. When we parent from a place of trying to control them, we often end up yelling, punishing and feeling guilty as a result. I will show you how to parent with boundaries, without guilt, and embrace your child even when they don’t like the results of your decisions.  (60 Minutes)

 

Session 3: Emotions. I help parents recognize their own emotions and how to support them. Imagine our hips being out of alignment. That misalignment can create problems throughout the body. The same thing happens when our emotions are stuffed, or, at the opposite end of the spectrum; if we’re letting loose on our kids by screaming or yelling. We are the models for our children. Our emotions are a part of our design, and designed to be used FOR us, not against us. Let’s show them how to offer themselves self-compassion and honor their feelings in a respectful, genuine way. I share several venues for how to encourage and support emotions that will bring harmony to our homes. (60 minutes)

 

Session 4: Understanding your child’s energy type. We often parent from a one-size-fits-all mentality. Knowing and understanding our child’s energy type prevents intentional wounding, builds self-confidence as a parent, and creates attachment with your child in a positive and beautiful way. When we ask ourselves, “What makes our children tick?” “Why doesn’t he do what I need him to the FIRST TIME?” “Why do I have to remind them over and over what they need to be doing??” When we understand how our child is wired, it helps us not only see life from their viewpoint, it allows us to change the way we relate to our child. (60 minutes)

 

Session 5: Diet and Activity. I believe food is medicine, and multitudes of physicians are aligning with this way of thinking. Most people would agree that preventing health issues is far better than the time, cost and energy required to fight disease. Activity encourages imagination, creativity, gives more energy, as well as strengthening all of our muscles and bones so that we can do anything we set our minds to. Best of all, it doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive! I share creative menu-options and plans, ways to encourage healthful eating, and ideas for activities that won’t break the bank - that are so fun, even YOU may want to join in the activities with them! (45-60 minutes)

 

Session 6: Putting it all together. When we build a strong parenting foundation, that includes healthy minds, emotions, energy, and diet - well, I will argue, you can do just about anything you put your mind to! I believe you want an Invictus Family - not perfect - just operating from a place of peace, love and safety. (60 minutes).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between therapy and coaching? 

Where therapy works on the “why” (you are the way you are) and more problem-focused, coaching focuses on the “how” you can change your behaviors, and is solution-focused.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a state of being in complete comfort and relaxation. It can best be described as “concentrated attention” and characterized by an awake-sleep state (also alpha or theta state). Hypnosis is usually experienced in trance, where a high level of change can be experienced at an unconscious level. 


During your session, you are in complete control of your conscious state, just as you would be during meditation, or being in a state of high concentration. For example, have you ever been so involved reading a book or watching a movie, that you don’t notice anything else around you? Hypnosis is no different. As you are guided to deepen your awareness of your unconscious mind, you will begin to lose involvement in your external surroundings. Just as you are able to break your focus from any activity, you can also come out of hypnosis at any time. You are always in control.


The primary state of consciousness is most referred to in hypnotherapy as the Alpha state. This is the half-asleep, half-awake and in a state of deep relaxation. Once you enter this state, your internal “chatter” will begin to slow down and you will begin to become more image-oriented, thus guided to make positive changes in your life.
While in hypnosis, some people experience theta state, very deep relaxation. Many people meditate for hours to get to this state of complete, deep calmness of the mind. Theta state is a favored state to produce instant healing.

 

Scientific discoveries have uncovered that certain brain wave frequencies (especially the Alpha and Theta) may:

  • Relieve stress and anxiety
  • Facilitate a deep, physical relaxation and mental clarity.
  • Increase verbal ability
  • Improve synchronization of the two hemispheres of the brain
  • Recall creative thinking
  • Reduce pain, stimulate the release of endorphins.

What is NLP?

NLP is the study of successful behavior. It is how we use the language of the mind to consistently achieve our specific and desired outcomes.  Neuro defines the mind, linguistic = language, and programming means retraining. Retraining the mind to communicate the most effective language towards ourselves and to others.

 

NLP processes can be used for success in health, relationships, business and any other areas of your life. It’s efficacy at producing positive changes quickly and comfortably to match your specific needs, drive your personal growth and digs deeper into the root cause of your issue by using a series of specific questions, visualizations, or changes of perception.

 

NLP can be used alone on a conscious level, but is also effective when combined with coaching, hypnotherapy and Timeline Therapy.

What is Timeline Therapy?

Best described by the creator of TLT, Tad James, the process allows you to work at the unconscious level to release the effects of negative beliefs, decisions, and emotions arising from past experiences. It brings about changes in “inappropriate” programming in minutes – not days, months or years.

 

Lasting behavior change starts at the unconscious level. As you become aware of your “time line,” you will learn how you store all of your unconscious memories at a subconscious level. Conscious decisions to change are most effective when conducted at this level.

 

Often, unwarranted emotional reactions such as unreasonable sadness, anger, depression, anxiety and fear or phobic reactions are responsible for preventing people achieving what they want in life. TLT, hypnotherapy and NLP can be coupled together as an effective way to help you gain emotional control over your life.

Why a consultation?

My free consultation will last 20-30 minutes, and will give you and I the opportunity to see if hypnosis and/or my parenting program is right for you.

How much time do I have to commit?

Consistency is key to retraining the mind, and each One2One session builds upon the previous session’s framework, so meeting weekly is required. No more than 2 weeks between sessions is recommended for individual, One2One coaching. As most people find their issues resolved in 4 sessions, it can take up to 6. You may purchase additional sessions following the package of 4.

 

For the Invictus Hearts Parent Coaching package, the commitment is 12 weeks. One week offers an online video that you can watch as often as you’d like for that week, while the next week offers a Live  Zoom Small Group Coaching Session with no more than 4 individual participants. This session is to answer questions, receive additional coaching and support.

What will it cost?

The initial consultation is free.

 

One2One Coaching, a 4 session package, $595. Additional 60 minute sessions can be purchased for only $105.


Invictus Hearts Parent Coaching is $1,195 which includes 6 video modules, and 6) hour long live group coaching sessions with me. If you choose to buy additional private 60 minute sessions with me, it’s just $105.

Do you take insurance?

Insurance coverage varies and depends on your coverage. As I do not accept insurance, you may be able to submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement.
